Computer Arts Projects - Issue 139

/uploads/posts/CAP_139_1-1282246986.jpg

Computer Arts Projects magazine, August Issue #139 is out now in the U.S. “Character Design Issue.” I was asked to create and submit a character for the exclusive 30 artist fold-out cover. I had to illustrate and write a little descriptive back-story about the character. I was honored to be asked to participate among so many talented and well-renowned artists. My character’s name is Hudson-Hippo.

Hudson Hippo is a young go-getter and business savvy entrepreneur. Your average every-day free wheelin,’ fixie lovin,’ hipposter. He’s taken porta shower bicycle messengering to the next level. His clientele is mainly alien based but he’s been working extra hard to get out of his 6 roommate/2 bedroom apartment share. Meet him here.

Thank you to everyone that came out and supported the Matty NoTimes Benefit art show this past weekend. It seemed to be a huge success and I was happy to be able to contribute.

My piece was entitled “Enveloped,” originally a pencil drawing that I had laser engraved into wood. Special thanks to Jocelyn at Saved for the engraving! More photos here

Countless Rooftops - Sweltering NY Summer

Summer’s half over and it’s been a hot one. I hear the term heatwave getting tossed around a lot on NY1. This photo was taken from my rooftop, where I’ve been spending a great deal of time lately. I live in a top-floor apartment and it’s been a sweat lodge (6th floor) . More often than not, I’ll climb out the window and up the fire escape to my rooftop sanctuary. Breathe in all that fresh air. Wait…No…it’s just humidity.

Caffetteria Soho

Earlier this year my good friend Aaron from San Fransisco relocated to New York! A former Blue Bottle Coffee employee, he moved out here to open up his own coffee shop. After months of watching all of his hard work Caffetteria Soho is now open! Dripping the freshest coffee blends, courtesy of beans from the Blue Bottle Coffee Company. If you are in the soho area stop in and check it out.
