Update - New Projects

/uploads/posts/sd_tote_blog-1321582776.gif I’ve finally got around to posting a handful of new projects. I’ve been experimenting with some new abstract illustration ideas and look forward to sharing them soon. There are a few in the works that are in the same style of the Transmutation tote, Less Life album artwork, and Dress Pattern. Feel free to drop me a line and let me know what you think.

Spring 2011

Spring 2011! Only 4 months into the year and I’ve finally got around to posting an update. So, it’s been awhile. While the northeast was burried in snow for the past few months and everyone settled into hibernation, I took every opportunity to try and get out of the city.

Katie and I traveled Indianapolis for the Holidays to hang with her family. Right after New Years we had an amazing 2 week trip to Hawaii. It was definitely rad to celebrate my 31st birthday on the beach. Since returning home, I’ve been working with my buddies over at Vault49 . They needed some help on some projects and it’s been really great working with those guys again.

Computer Arts Projects - Issue 139

/uploads/posts/CAP_139_1-1282246986.jpg

Computer Arts Projects magazine, August Issue #139 is out now in the U.S. “Character Design Issue.” I was asked to create and submit a character for the exclusive 30 artist fold-out cover. I had to illustrate and write a little descriptive back-story about the character. I was honored to be asked to participate among so many talented and well-renowned artists. My character’s name is Hudson-Hippo.

Hudson Hippo is a young go-getter and business savvy entrepreneur. Your average every-day free wheelin,’ fixie lovin,’ hipposter. He’s taken porta shower bicycle messengering to the next level. His clientele is mainly alien based but he’s been working extra hard to get out of his 6 roommate/2 bedroom apartment share. Meet him here.

Please check out the new Computer Arts Projects Magazine Issue 136. I created the cover artwork and did a short interview spread. It came out in the UK a little over two weeks ago but should be hitting stores in the US this week. The brief called for something primarily character based and referenced a project that I had previously done for Nickelodeon. It was alot of fun to work on. Click here to see additional images.

Movin' Shop!

I am very pleased to announced that I moved my design art studio to Greenpoint Brooklyn! The fine folks over at Three Kings Tattoo have just expanded their shop to another floor. They happened to have an extra office space and I was more than happy to move in! I used to rent an office space in Williamsburg before moving out to Clinton Hill. It will be nice to be back in the old hood to run my daily operation (rip guru). Three Kings have such talented roster of artists and i’m really looking forward to hangin/collabin with everyone. Come out and get tattooed! Or if you’re in the area stop by and say hello.
